Results from Wakefield 18th July 2008

A very poor turn out (perhaps due to the second day of the Open and the first day of the Headingley test) enjoyed surprisingly good weather and an excellent day at Wakefield GC (Sandal). The morning nine hole competition was won by Ken Limbert, Nick Randall and the Secretary. More joined for the afternoon where Terry Beaumont put the depression in the property market behind him to take the bronze medal position with 33 points, after a count back it was established that the Secretary had taken the silver with 35 points whilst at the top of the podium was Graham Bradley. Two's were scored by Mike Armistead, Ken Limbert and John Wharton. Nearest the pin went to the Secretary (who managed to miss the put for a two - nowt new there then) and Simon Pepperell creamed the longest drive. Mike Armistead announced that he and Margaret were pregnant with twins which should sort out the driving arrangements for the Captain's Day dinner and dance.
