Aberford Albion football club are unsurprisingly based in Aberford and play on a ground on Bunkers Hill at the south end of Aberford, just next to the Almshouses.

They play in yellow & red stripes shirts, red shorts, red socks.

Organic food near Aberford ... sausages!

Ok ... it's not in Aberford but Swillington Organic Farm shop is closest organic farm shop that this site is aware of. It has a range of home reared meat and vegetables. Open on a Friday afternoon and on Saturdays, you know what you getting is fresh and very organic.

• British Sausage Week: To celebrate this we will be having a sausage tasting event in the farm shop on Saturday 21st October from 12pm. Customers will be able to sample our range of organic sausages. All made on the farm using meat from our own saddleback pigs.

It seems that just about everything you could think of is on YouTube and now Aberford is there as well.

The video is a glimpse into the tunnel along the old fly line in Parlington estate. If you want to see it youself then it's about half a mile up the dirt road opposite Lotherton Lane.

A Family Hallowen Disco will be held in Aberford Village Hall on Friday 27th October.

Tickets: £4 Adults, £2.50 Children

Aberford Village Shop closed its doors for the last time this weekend.

The lease on the shop expired at the end of September.
