Aberford is a small village located around 8 miles to the north-east
of Leeds (West Yorkshire, England) and is the home is just over
600 households.
Aberford is linear in shape, which is because was on what was
'The Great North Road'. The Great North Road was built by the romans
and connects London to York, and carries on up to Newcastle. Aberford
was a coaching stop on the road and evidence of the coach houses
can be seen today with the large arches which are part of many buildings,
most notably The Swan Hotel.
