Background
About Yvonne Richardson
Yvonne was born in Aberford and attended both Aberford C
of E Primary School & Boston Spa Comprehensive School before
going on to Askham Bryan College to study for a Higher National
Diploma in Agriculture (HND) and more recently a BSc in
Land Management and Technology. She is currently completing
an MSc in Agricultural Marketing.
She has worked on livestock and arable farms in the Vale
of York, Yorkshire Dales, Holland and France as well as
taking up posts with the Milk Marketing Board, a farmhouse
cheese maker and a meat marketing organisation.
She now lives on the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides
which are some 40 miles off the West Coast of Scotland.
She has recently established her own business specialising
in the agri-food industry which offers market research,
project evaluation and project management services as well
food hygiene training.
With her partner they took over the tenancy of a 150 acre
croft in January this year, keeping hill Cheviot sheep which
are currently crossed with a Texel.
